Mail Call: My Guster Satellite EP Arrived
This is a completely different kind of good Friday.
Surely this is the elixir my sinuses have needed. I already feel at least 37 percent better- maybe more. Probably more.
I’ve nearly listened to the entire EP. If time permits, I’ll write a proper review and get it posted at BC (which reminds me, I have a couple other reviews that need to be written). In the meantime, I really like the four previously unreleased studio cuts. Best I can tell, “G Major,” “Rise & Shine,” “Timothy Leary,” and “I’m Through” were all cut during the Ganging Up on the Sun sessions. Amazing. I can’t believe they still had songs of this caliber left after listening through the whole of GUOTS.
The “Satellite” remix is interesting, but not an improvement on the magnificent original. I’m haven’t gotten to the two live covers (The Beatles’ “Two of Us” and Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart”)…
It’s not Good Friday, it’s Guster Friday.
