Watermelon Slim Week, Day 4
We get into our “Way Back Machine” as Watermelon Slim Week rolls along. We’ve been talking about Slim’s new album, The Wheel Man, a lot this week. Today, we’re going to talk about his previous album, Watermelon Slim & The Workers.
Naturally, I think you’d do well to go out and buy the record with all due speed. If all this Watermelon Slim talk has piqued your curiosity but you’re still not sure about buying the record, here are four songs you ought to sample. All four would be best, any one of them would be a good place to start. This is what I love about the iTunes Music Store: the chance to try the music out before deciding whether or not to go all in.

| Folding Money Blues | Great acoustic blues, and a clever way of singing about the Benjamins. Remember when it was "All About the Benjamins?" I do. That song sucked. This one doesn’t. | |
| Ash Tray | "My coffee cup is empty and my ash tray is full." That’s might be one of the bluesiest lines ever. | |
| Baby, Please Don’t Go | This Willie Dixon-penned classic has been covered 100,000 times, and somehow Watermelon Slim finds a way to bring something new to it. It isn’t the definitive version of the song, but it’s a really good one. | |
