2007 Style
The joy of the new Wilco album and the anticipation of so many great albums still to be released this year conspired to motivate me to listen to the first fabulous album of 2007, Norah Jones’ Not Too Late.
The album was released in February and I purposely didn’t call it “Album of the Year” because I didn’t know what else would be released and I couldn’t be sure the album would ‘age’ well. I knew I would always like the album, but there have been times I’ve proclaimed one to be great and can’t remember why six months later. I wanted to leave myself some room, especially in February.
I don’t know if this is the album of the year, but I still hear all the things I loved about it when I first heard it. Not Too Late is a sublime record filled with simple pleasures. I just might like it better than Feels Like Home.
