“Crestfallen”
I’m listening to “Crestfallen” by The Pernice Brothers from their Overcome By Happiness album; an album title drenched-in-irony. What a gorgeous string arrangement!
It’s a perfect song because I’ve dedicated tonight a “working” night and I need to get some done. It’s great getting all these advances and the like, but then it comes time to produce output commensurate with the amount of material you’ve been given. Tonight must be a work night, and all my youngest daughter wants to do is cuddle (said youngest daughter being the sweet-natured Bella, the last of the three cats to join our family). I’ve had to scoop her off my desk three times in the last five minutes. Poor baby. She really is the sweetest little thing.
So, with that, I am clocking in. I’m going to be writing material for here, as well as a starting work on some reviews. I’ve done the easy part… I’ve listened to the records. Now for the hard part, but a part of the job I love.
