New Releases Getting Away From Me: Paul McCartney, Springsteen, Traveling Wilburys…
I spent this weekend watching DVDs, taking notes, and writing reviews. I’ve been feeling the crush of piling review material and I set out to do something about it. I finished my Muddy Waters review for tomorrow. My Pinetop Perkins review should go live today. I’m working on the Stones’ monster box set for next week. I was feeling accomplished!
I said all of that to tell you this: it’s worse than I thought. I thought I had another week on Memory Almost Full, the new disc from Paul McCartney. Now, I’ve got to redirect my efforts to get this review done this week. It’s probably not going to be ready for Tuesday. I’m now in the position of shooting for Wednesday or Thursday. Oh — and by the way — Springsteen comes out tomorrow. I suppose I’m lucky I won’t be able to afford that on release day (unless something changes). I am supposed to be getting that together for review, as well. Insane.

The upshot of all of this is I’ve got a shitload of work to do. I’m more glad than ever that 24 is over for the season and relieved that House is, too (although I’m looking forward to House’s return). I’ve got work to do these next few nights.
It gets even more hectic next week when the Stones’ box and the 2CD/1DVD Traveling Wilbury set is released… and I still haven’t done anything with Bruce.
Admittedly, these are nice problems to have but I’m going to have to turn up the gain. The rest of you just get to enjoy the bounty. I’ve got work to do.
