Music of the Moment: Stuck in Seattle
Posted on July 18th, 2007 by Josh Hathaway
I’ve been listening to “So Close” from Alice in Chains’ self-titled album and “Negative Creep” from Nirvana’s debut, Bleach.
Hearing Layne Staley sing “I nearly snapped my twig” is one of the five funniest things I can think of at this moment. I never really paid much attention to this song when AiC was released, but these days I can’t get enough of it. That band had some gallows humor.
“Negative Creep” is a terrific example of low-fi, Slayer-loving, self-loathing Kurt Cobain.
I miss my laptop.
