Feelin’ Better Already…
“Empire State” is one of the loveliest songs I know, and it is chiefly responsible for improving my outlook on life. I’m feeling inspired enough to get back to work, here and at home.
— Task #1: Finish my Gina Sicilia review. It’s 85 percent done. I’m still have to massage it a bit.
— Task #2: Peter Karp. I was sent this Peter Karp CD from a contact and I’ve been meaning to listen to it and write about it for some time. Between vacations, laziness, and broken laptops I’ve gotten further and further behind. I’m planning on spending some time listening to the CD (after Guster… I only have two more songs to go…) and hoping words will begin to form.
I read some of the bio material about Karp and he seems an interesting sort. I’m eager to hear the CD. He’s worked with a lot of great folks and this new CD, Shadows and Cracks, is his first for Blind Pig. I liked The Rounders’ CD I got from Blind Pig. Here’s top hoping lightning strikes twice.
