New Album from Nick Moss & The Flip Tops, 3 More Releases From Blue Bella Records
There is big news today from one of my favorite indie blues labels, Blue Bella Records. Blue Bella is going to release four new blues titles on Oct. 9, headlined by new music from Nick Moss & The Flip Tops.

Play it ‘Til Tomorrow will be a special 2-CD set, Moss’ first album since last year’s BMA Album of the Year nominee Live at Chan’s. This just became one of my most anticipated albums of the year. Two CDs of Nick Moss guitar? I guess we’ll be testing the theory of whether or not there can be too much of a good thing. Flip Top member Gerry Hundt will release his solo debut Since Way Back that same day.
Rounding out the big release day for Blue Bella will be Bill Lupkin’s Hard Pill to Swallow and The Kilborn Alley Blues Band’s Tear Chicago Down.
Blue Bella became one of my favorite indie labels last year during my quest to hear and review as many BMA-nominated albums and artists as possible leading up to the big event. Not only did they – and by they I mean Kate – quickly get me the requested material, they (she) sent me such a great press kit with the music. I’m lucky just to get the CD most of the time when I request material. Fortunately, the internet allows me to go do my fact-finding and checking, but it’s really great when you get everything you need – and then some – in one package.
They really became one of my favorite labels when I actually got to listen to Moss’ CDs. He is such an exciting player and I can’t wait to hear Play it ‘Til Tomorrow. I’ve got high hopes Moss will overcome what often happens with most double albums: one album’s worth of “A” material and some leftover tracks. He’s an amazing and exciting player and I can’t wait to hear this latest creation. Because I now consider myself a Flip Top fan, I’m also eager to hear Hundt’s solo debut. I’m wagering our boy Nick makes a cameo on at least one track.
