Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band have added a third warmup gig as they prepare for their tour to promote their new album, Magic, according to the unofficially official Springsteen authority Backstreets.
This third warmup show will be Sept. 28 (Friday) at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. The first two warmup shows were [...]

The first of two Springsteen warmup gigs is in the books and already fan reaction has begun, according to 11, my source for most things Springsteen. That reaction? Predictable. Apparently there are some fans complaining too many songs from Bruce’s upcoming album Magic were included in the set list.
I will now do [...]

I was talking to TheWifeToWhomI’mMarried the other night, against her will, about the extent to which The Doobie Brothers have been under appreciated by the high-brow rock snobs. The poor thing, she is constantly on the receiving end of my tedious dissertations on this band or that. The woman really is a saint. [...]

I believe I mentioned in a previous post that I was late to the U2 bandwagon, brought against my will by the persistence of 11. What is it about me and persistent people when it comes to music? Anyroad, I got in on U2 with All That You Can’t Leave Behind and the [...]

Minutes tick away and I have planned and re-planned this day at last count at least six counts. I’m now writing about an album I had no plan to write about, listening to an album I had no plan on buying yet somehow it wound up underneath the doormat of my Huntsville apartment. [...]

I had a very 11 day, revisiting several albums that dominated his late mid-to-late ’90s listening. Garbage, The Ghost of Tom Joad, Passengers, a little bit of New Adventures in Hi-Fi, and a couple tunes from PopMart-era U2. I also sandwiched in some Nu-Blues songs — a meaningless term that somehow makes sense [...]

Few “major” bands chronicle their work as live performers as well as Pearl Jam. There are bands who do it more often and with more flair and polish, but Pearl Jam has carved out a special niche and the latest piece of that niche is the new DVD Immagine in Cornice (Picture in a [...]

Why would any idiot need a 160GB iPod Classic? So that when a song from a forgotten album pops in his head that song is within arm’s reach no matter where he is. Besides, I pride myself in not just being any idiot.
I was at my sister-in-law’s house tonight trying to rid their [...]

I find myself one more time geographically SOL for Bruce Springsteen tickets. Springsteen has again announced a couple of warm up shows in Asbury Park, NJ prior to his world tour. The tickets cost $100 and proceeds are being donated to as-yet named charities.
The shows are Sept. 24 and 25 (Mon. and Tues) [...]

It was my first day with my new 160 GB iPod (just for you, Brewster) and what a great day it was. I bought my iPod a present in the form of the new Eddie Vedder “solo album.” Vedder was tapped to do the soundtrack for Sean Penn’s new movie Into The Wild. [...]
