It begins here. This is my petition. This is my plea. I am officially lobbying for Tom Petty to follow in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen by releasing the Gainesville homecoming show on CD.
Springsteen released a DVD of an amazing show from the Hammersmith-Odeon in London as part of the 30th Anniversary […]

OK, so I wasn’t in LA and can’t verify that last part but I can tell you the band played it for the first time this tour. Rumors had been swirling, according to 11, and these rumors came to pass. I love the version of “Kitty” from the Hammersmith show and can’t imagine […]

I didn’t get a chance to finish listening to Long Road Out of Eden last night, so I picked up where I left off.
Actually that’s not true. I started over- except that I didn’t. I started with the second song, “How Long” because I can’t take “No More Walks in the Wood.” […]

I’m having a good night tonight.
I bought the first new Eagles CD in 28 years. I do like what I’ve heard thus far.
I put that aside to watch the upcoming Barenaked Ladies’ live DVD. I got an advance of it. It comes out next Tuesday. I rule. TheWifeToWhomI’mMarried and I are both big fans of […]

A solid, pleasing set list for the band’s first night in LA, but nothing remarkable or earth shattering from a set list perspective. This is — and I know I’m repeating myself here — another example of the “A” set, played on the first night of a two nighter. “Thundercrack” is back with […]

I dubbed Pink the new Crypt Keeper some months ago in the early days of this site, and now will you look at her? Having failed in her attempt — but just barely — to ruin music, she’s taking her act to the screen where she will star in a horror movie.
Pink, […]

It takes an alarming amount of arrogance, self-importance, ego, gall, and chutzpah to lecture your record buying public about crass consumerism when you force them to buy the new album from Wal-Mart or not at all.
I’ve wanted a “Get Over Yourself” award category for some time now and there are a lot of artists deserving […]

Barenaked Ladies’ Talk To The Hand: Live in Michigan
I once again drink from the glorious kegs of victory as I celebrate my beloved Boston Red Sox domination of the Colorado Rockies to win the 2007 World Series. Glorious!
To honor me and the vital role I played in this magnificent achievement, I got […]

Three big debuts in Oakland’s second show, none bigger than fan favorite “Racing in the Street.” In addition to “Racing,” “Two Hearts” and “Working on the Highway” were performed for the first time on the Magic tour. “Thundercrack” returned to the encore, replacing “Thunder Road.”

I’ve been in South Carolina the past several days, so I’ve gotten behind on my Springsteen Tour Chronicles. Have no fear, I have returned and Confessions of a Fanboy is once again the haven for Springsteen fans who actually like Bruce Springsteen.
In keeping with the current pattern, no tour premieres on the […]
