Another New Bruce Springsteen Album Ready For Release?

Magic was only the beginning.

Bruce Springsteen has always been a prolific songwriter. He’s thrown away more albums than a lot of artists have ever recorded. He’s one of the few artists of our times who can drop a 4-CD box set and not scratch the surface of what is still in his personal archives. He’s more than a man, he’s a machine. Okay, I got a little carried away. Sorry about that.

Billboard has interviewed Magic producer Brendan O’Brien who says there is another album’s worth of material in the can.

“There’s another group of songs that exist that I think are great songs and should end up somewhere, but they just didn’t quite fit with this group,” says O’Brien.

Glory be! This is “Josh Beckett against the Angels in Game 1 of the ALDS” good!

I hate to throw water on this glorious news, but I’m not sure we’re deserving of this good fortune. Wickedness abounds among the hovered masses at Camp Springsteen. Infidels have infiltrated and they’re tearing their clothes because Magic didn’t conform to their small-minded view of what Bruce is supposed to sound like. OK, I’m laying it on a little thick.

What I’m saying is they didn’t wait long to start pissing all over Magic, but they’re really outdoing themselves today. They’re bitching about an album they’ve never even heard and might never be released. How for gone and jaded are you if you’re a Bruce Springsteen fan who automatically assumes you won’t like his next record?

If you want to read a review from Bruce Springsteen fans who actually like Bruce Springsteen, The Roundtable has once again convened.

I’ll be keeping an eye on tonight’s set list from Philly, the second show of the Magic tour. Something tells me, Bruce will be the only magic in Philadelphia. I think the Phillies are done.
