Springsteen Magic Tour Chronicles| Oct. 6 - Philly #2: Best Set List So Far and he played “Incident”
Bruce is far more forgiving than I. Not only did he play a second show in Philly after “The Incident,” he actually played “Incident” and a whole lot more.
Three shows in and we have a set list that will be tough to beat all tour long. We got the tour debuts of “Cadillac Ranch” and “Dancing in the Dark” as well as “Incident on 57th Street,” a song from The Wild, The Innocent, & The E-Street Shuffle that is not often played but is almost always played in Philadelphia. You do the math on that.
Other changeups include “Night” opening the show followed by “Radio Nowhere” rather than the other way around. Bruce’s duet with Patti, “Town Called Heartbreak” was once again on the set list but according to at least one observer was played in a different arrangement. God’s favorite song, “The Promised Land,” was played and so was “Thundercrack.” I don’t know about you, kids, but I’d take this set list in a heartbeat. Fabulous.
Now, if we could just squeeze “Santa Ana” in there somewhere for 11…

Night->Radio Nowhere->Prove it is a powerful opener. great stuff.
and they still ended with American Land, thus making a large majority of the crowd happy, and annoying the nudniks who don’t deserve to be there.
hey, i just realized that there’s a good chance that the people dumb enough to take a bathroom break during “Town Called Heartbreak” might have missed the beginning of “Incident…”
heh.
Yeah, what I’ve read indicates one kind of fed into the other. Tremendous.
I’d like to see “Adam” or “Don’t Look Back” in that #2 slot once or twice, too.
Have you downloaded any bootlegs yet? I just got the Hartford set from dimeadozen.org and will be listening to it soon.
I’ve seen a couple are out there floating around but I haven’t grabbed any yet. Philly #2 is the set list I’m most interested in hearing when it surfaces.
btx has links for the mp3 versions.
i can’t do dime. i seem to be technically inept when it comes to torrents.
here you go http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=165381
there’s over 600 people seeding it as I type, so it should be quick if you catch it soon.
