Another Reminder of Why I’m a Writer and Not A Professional Athlete

Wow, did I suck at softball tonight. You know that old bullshit about practice making perfect? Not so much. You can actually play softball for a period of months and continue sucking in equal proportions.
I’ll tell you this, though. If I was a professional athlete, I’d insist Libertines and Babyshambles music be played before I took the field. There is so much energy and life in so many of those of those songs. Hell, even Pete’s barely coherent songs have a lot of piss and fire in them.
I listened to “Fuck Forever” as I was driving to the ball diamond and I felt ready to kill… in my mind. When I set my iPod down and picked up a bat, it was far less lethal.
