Springsteen Magic Tour 10/17/07 NYC #1: No Tour Premieres for Madison Square Garden

Welcome to your Magic Tour World Headquarters: Dedicated To Bruce Springsteen Fans Who Actually Like Bruce Springsteen.

Am I the only one who thinks its funny that Bruce didn’t give a single song its tour debut in last night’s first show at Madison Square Garden in NYC? I’ve got nothing against NY — except for the Yankees, that is. I’ve never been there. I will probably never go there. Even though I’ve never been there, I’ve gotten a belly full of “New York is the greatest city in the world” and “New York is the capital of everything” mentality perpetuated by the media. I have only anecdotal exposure to actual New Yorkers, so I don’t know if this is a media creation as well as a media perpetuation. I do know it tends to go up my ass sideways.

Here is a great set list from one of the great American bands and there are people who are pissed they didn’t get something that no one else got. You got a great fuckin’ rock ‘n’ roll show, man! Get over yourself. You’ve paid all that money only to piss all over the experience. This part of the message extends far beyond NYC. Dear Ticketholders, you’re going to get a great show if you’ll open yourself up to it. I’m still waiting for him to book a show near me. You’ve been/will be going. Let it go. Breathe. You got to hear God’s favorite song. That doesn’t suck.
