Music of the Moment: Barenaked Ladies - Talk To The Hand
Barenaked Ladies’ Talk To The Hand: Live in Michigan
I once again drink from the glorious kegs of victory as I celebrate my beloved Boston Red Sox domination of the Colorado Rockies to win the 2007 World Series. Glorious!
To honor me and the vital role I played in this magnificent achievement, I got an advance of the new Barenaked Ladies live CD/DVD package. It’s the band’s second live album, but their first live DVD. Talk To The Hand: Live In Michigan was recorded this summer in Clarkson, MI (Detroit suburb).
I’ll have a full review written and ready for the November 6 release. In the meantime, here is a high-level breakdown of the set.
The good news? The CD and DVD have identical tracklistings and came from the same show and this might be the most environmentally friendly package in music history (if that sort of thing matters to you).
The bad? It’s not the complete show. Here’s the complete Talk To The Hand: Live In Michigan CD & DVD Tracklist:
1. One Week 2:48
2. The Old Apartment 3:18
3. Sound Of Your Voice 3:15
4. Bank Job 4:25
5. Too Little Too Late 3:30
6. Adrift 3:00
7. For You 3:35 (acoustic)
8. Be My Yoko Ono (acoustic) 3:15
9. Wind It Up 4:20
10. Angry People 4:35
11. Pinch Me 4:38
12. Powder Blue 4:50
13. Brian Wilson 4:50
14. Easy 4:25

I have to ask: how is it “environmentally friendly”? Is it one of those awful new eggcarton-type things I’ve seen?
Tom, it’s a pretty standard cardboard packaging. After all the nonsense about its eco-friendliness (stay tuned for the full review) it’s not all that different from other packages as far as the appearance and materials, etc.
