Music of the Moment: Modern Times
I read an interesting article the other day about the potential for another vinyl uprising and was reminded of Dylan’s Modern Times record. Dylan slagged modern recordings, saying they sounded atrocious and static filled in an interview he gave around the time of MT’s release.
That article and quote stuck with me and this afternoon I’ve dusted off Modern Times and wouldn’t you know it — I love the way this album sounds! There is a warmth in these sounds not often heard on contemporary records. You may not understand what you’re missing until you hear this album. I’m not ready to abandon my CDs for vinyl, but I’m tempted.

Dylan’s “problem” of course, is that he hears his stuff live in the studio and then the transfer to digital butchers it.
man, this one on vinyl sounds particularly sweet.
