Oasis: From Don’t Believe The Truth to Lord Don’t Slow Me Down and Back Again
I got an advance copy of the new Oasis film Lord Don’t Slow Me Down on Saturday and spent a portion of Sunday morning watching it and that got me in an Oasis mode so I listened to Don’t Believe The Truth this morning. Truth was my Album of 2005. I hadn’t listened to it in a little while so it was nice to be reminded of it. “Lyla” is one of the catchiest songs in the Gallagher canon and it’s impossible for me to listen to it and sit still.
As for the movie, I’ve got a little YouTube preview for you to check out. I’ve watched the film in its entirety and watched the 12 minute bonus Q&A with Noel Gallagher (classic, that, by the way). I haven’t gotten to check out the film with band running commentary nor have I gotten to watch the second disc. That second disc is footage taken from the band’s homecoming show July 2nd in Manchester. Sixteen of the 20 songs performed that night — the same night as Live8 — are part of this disc.
