Oasis - “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down”

I finished my review of Oasis’ Lord Don’t Slow Me Down tour film and followed that up by downloading the digital bundle from the band’s web site.

The digital bundle is three tracks, released exclusively as downloads. “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” was written during the Don’t Believe The Truth sessions and was reportedly left off the album because it would have tipped the balance a little too far in Noel’s direction as far as lead vocal tracks go. It’s a good song, but I don’t think I’d replace any of Noel’s other songs with this one.

The other two tracks are live tracks that can be heard and seen on the DVD’s second disc, the Manchester homecoming gig. It would have been really cool if these two live tracks were songs that got cut from the DVD. Even the most jaded, anti-Oasis person has to admit to getting a small chill listening to a stadium full of fans sing every word to “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” That’s an all-time classic, that one.

  1. I get chills every time I hear that too. It’s such an easy and fun song to sing to. I love hearing the emotion coming from the crowd.
