Quiet Nights and Gillian Welch
There just aren’t enough of the quiet moments. You don’t realize just how much you miss them until you experience one and realize how long it’s been since the last one.
I’m sitting in my living room with my three cats, my laptop, and Gillian Welch’s Revival. Rather than listening to these songs on my iPod through headphones, I’m listening to it on my stereo in the open air. There might be a better way to spend a Friday night but I can’t think of it. I needed this, too, after my Best Buy experience. I needed it even more after reading an outrageous and infuriating story that put my annoying experience in Best Buy in perspective.
A quiet night of nocturnal, soul-nourishing music is something I should treat myself to more often.
