I hadn’t been ignoring Kilborn Alley on purpose. I’ve liked everything Blue Bella records has ever sent me and I fully intended to give Kilborn Alley Blues Band’s Tear Chicago Down a thorough listen and writeup as soon as it arrived alongside Nick Moss’ Play it ‘Til Tomorrow. The problem is, I’m easily [...]

The 2008 BMA nominations are out so you know what the news is, here’s my reaction to it.
First, I’ve got a lot of music I need to get my hands on and hear before I submit my final ballot. I’m very interested in James Blood Ullmer’s album. Ullmer was nominated three or four times. [...]

I feel… good!
I feel alive. Man, last night’s interview with Peter Karp on the B-Sides Concept Album program I host could not have possibly gone any better. I had trouble going to sleep after the high of a really enjoyable conversation with an artist whose work I respect and enjoy so much. [...]

John Lennon fans should have been accustomed to gibberish lyrics long before this song, but did they ever sound this pretty?
I’ve had a stressful morning, getting in to the Christmas shopping game as late as always this year. My head is throbbing, my blood pressure is rising, and I still have a full day [...]

Yep. I bought Living in the Material World at lunch today.
I’m listening to it a second time now, and I am pleased. I’d be more pleased if I were listening to it at home, following a day in which my work project was actually working.
Oh, well. I like the CD.

My efforts to listen to this album would be greatly enhanced if co-workers would stop interrupting me. I mean, really! How rude? Don’t they read Fanboy? Don’t they understand I’m on a mission?
My efforts have also been undone by my rediscovery of “The Art of Dying.” Great song! I [...]
