Barenaked Ladies are The Anti-Eagles
I’m having a good night tonight.
I bought the first new Eagles CD in 28 years. I do like what I’ve heard thus far.
I put that aside to watch the upcoming Barenaked Ladies’ live DVD. I got an advance of it. It comes out next Tuesday. I rule. TheWifeToWhomI’mMarried and I are both big fans of BNL. They haven’t played near us in years and watching this is reminding us how much fun we had the four or five times we’ve seen them in the past. You HAVE to see them do “Angry People.” Fuckin’ priceless!
BNL: serious music for people with a sense of humor. Funny music for serious people. Good music from guys who understand the value of entertainment.

i’ve heard really great things about their live shows. it’d be interesting to see if i liked them live because their studio records don’t do much for me.
I think you’d appreciate the fun of the shows even if the music didn’t do much for you. The live shows are obviously centered around their music, but their is an improvisational factor and a fun factor that is uniquely them. They’re one of a small handful of bands I’ve paid to see multiple times and have never felt shortchanged.
Hi, I like Eagles very much, I like their music. It is fantastic. A few days ago I happened to find a CD “Desperadoâ€online: http://www.dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=65926
It is Eagles’ second album and is a concept affair. As the cover suggests, the band sing about the life of outlaws & banditos. I think it is very cool. I just want to collect it.
I’ll agree with Mark. With the exception of a few singles, their studio work just doesn’t do it for me. I have that live CD they did a few years back and I like it a lot better, but there are still a lot of really bad songs on it.
My wife’s seen them live and she said it was a blast. So I’m sure to buy a ticket if they ever come around.
it’s just one of those things….some music moves ya, and other stuff doesn’t. Barenaked Ladies sit on my mental shelf next to groups like They Might Be Giants….it’s a kind of pop that just doesn’t resonate with me.
