Citizen Dick: Big Guitars and Movie Stars

I wish I got into all that psychobabble and analysis and shit because I’d be curious what it says when you begin your day with Deftones.

I woke up this morning in the mood for some big guitars, yet I don’t feel all that angst-y. Still, for some reason I needed to hear “Digital Bath” and “My Own Summer (Shove It)” from White Pony and Around the Fur respectively. From there I segued to the glorious guitars of Zwan’s “Ride a Black Swan,” a pair from Pearl Jam’s Lost Dogs set (”Alone” and “Sad”), and a pair from Soundgarden’s Superunknown (”Fresh Tendrils” and “Let Me Drown”). Viva los ’90s!

Now I’m retracing my steps through OK Computer because I keep wanting to tell my fellow man, “We hope you choke, we hope you choke.”

I’m officially in a weird mood.

  1. Nothing wrong with starting your day with a little Deftones… ‘one weak’ is always a nice thing to have with coffee. :) enjoy your weird mood. nothing wrong with it.

  2. There might not be anything wrong with it, but I’m not sure it’s the picture of morning mental health, either. I guess I survived it though, and that has to count for something.

Weird moods are the norm for me, which is enough to inspire some sort of meandering diatribe filled with semantic twists and turns. I’m far too tired to take that trip tonight.
