Complete Set List for Bruce Springsteen Warmup Show #2 in Asbury Park

Another Bruce warmup show, more predictable fan bitching and moaning; predictable but not reasonable.

Listening to the batshit loony things people are saying is making me think rock stars are actually underpaid. Hell, I’d go postal 39 times a day if I had to listen to this shit. And what is this shit? They’re pissed off about what he plays and what he doesn’t because there is a vocal crowd in Camp Springsteen with some real fuckin’ entitlement issues. Take heart, Springsteen fans. I have it on good authority this new album is a stunner and these whiny little shits are going to get theirs, tenfold.

So, let’s take a look at the set list. Two warmup shows down, one to go as the band leaves Asbury Park for E. Rutherford on Friday.

  1. they should rename greasylake.org to greasylakeihaventlikedanythingbrucehasdonesincedarkness.org

    bitchez!!!

  2. Apparently, this group wants him to play nothing past Born to Run, with a special concentration on the first two records. All three of those are fine records, but Bruce has done plenty of great work post BTR.

  3. yep, that about sums it up.

  4. i particularly love it when they proclaim how this, that, or the other tune is the perfect bathroom break.

  5. Those bathroom people must have more money than me. I’ll piss my tennis shoes before I leave a concert to hit the head.

OK, that might have been TMI.

  6. hey, it shows commitment.

i wish one of those people’d go to the bathroom, slip on some water or something so as to be delayed for several minutes….while the song they profess to hate morphs into Rosalita or Wild Billy’s Circus Story.

  7. True story: I was at a Bruce and the E-Streeters show in 2001 in Charlotte, N.C. For the whole show, this clown behind me screamed ‘BACKSTREETS!’ ‘BACKSTREETS!’ ‘BACKSTREETS!’

As best as I remember, I think ‘Backstreets’ was played 99.9 percent of the time on that tour. Also, we were in the nosebleeds. Requesting a ubiquitous song from the rafters. Not smart.

Anyway, two hours into the show, Roy starts up the intro to ‘Backstreets.’ Thank God, I thought. I look over my shoulder, and the guy who has been shouting all night is GONE. Ten minutes later, and two minutes after ‘Backstreets’ is over, the guy is back, and he’s shouting, ‘BACKSTREETS!’

For the record, I’ll take ‘Santa Ana,’ Bossman.

  8. Excuse me. That was in 2000. Duh.

  9. 11, that is one of my favorite stories. I remember you telling me about that at the time. These are the people I’m supposed to commune with?

For the record… “Thundercrack” is getting it done for me.

  10. for the tivo-enabled, they’re gonna perform on the today show tomorrow morning.

a perfect day to “work at home”.

    yep.

  11. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO LISTEN TO THE WHOLE BODY OF WORK, YOU’LL BE GALD YOU DID… TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE COMPLETEPACKAGE
