I Wish I Could Always Start The Week on Tuesday!
I went home for lunch today and ‘dined’ on some lovely high-fiber cuisine. Some folks calls it cardboard, I calls it high-fiber cuisine. If getting older didn’t beat the alternative, I wouldn’t do it. I am thrilled to say, however, there was a spoonful of sugar to help get the high-fiber medicine to go down.
Two packages were waiting for me — one from FedEx, one from the post office — and I can now cross two albums off my wishlist. Advance copies of Muddy Waters’ Breakin’ it Up, Breakin’ it Down and Paul McCartney’s Memory Almost Full were waiting for me. Both are scheduled for June releases and both are among the albums I’ve most wanted to hear.
I started with the Muddy live album because I’ve already heard two songs from the McCartney record (“Ever Present Past” | “Dance Tonight”) and because Muddy’s album will be released a week before Paul’s.
I send huge “thank yous” to the fabulous contacts who have once again come through for me! It is more than just a cool perk to get to hear these albums early, although I want to emphasize how fabulous it is. Having these albums early is also a tremendous advantage to me as a writer. I’ll have plenty of time to give these records repeated listens. It will be much easier to write timely reviews, and I believe the reviews will be better as a result of having had enough time to get to know these records. Once again, my sincerest thanks to the media reps for their support of my efforts.
You will be hearing more about these records over the next two or three weeks…
