Let’s Talk About My iPod: April 18, 2007

I’m going to compile a playlist, probably more than one, called “When It All Goes Wrong.” When I do, you can bet Mark Lanegan and Elliott Smith will make the list. So, yeah, I suppose you could translate their presence on the list to mean today was not the greatest day in the history of days. That’s all I have to say about that.

I listened to Bob Dylan’s Modern Times album. I love that it sounds different from most of the contemporary albums being released these days. “Love & Theft” had better songs, but I love the sound of this record. I also dug out some Foo Fighters, Byrds, and some Built to Spill.

  1. for just a second, i thought one of those entries said “Dusty Springfield”, which really doesn’t seem like you.

  2. You know, I’ve heard a couple of Dusty Springfield songs but I’m not very familiar there. I simply haven’t heard enough to render an opinion either way.

  3. i’m not a huge fan really, but that “Son Of A Preacher Man” thing pretty much proves she had a great voice.

  4. You’ll get no argument from me on that point.

  5. Wait, I thought Uma Thurman sang that ;)

  6. Dusty was just coverin’ Uma’s song, is all. :D
