Music of the Moment: Peter Karp - Shadows and Cracks 2.0

I’m listening to Shadows and Cracks again for the first time.pkarp.jpg

I’ve gone to great lengths to express my adoration for this record, including now having spent some of my own dollars to add the album to my collection. I am listening to my very own proper copy of the album for the first time, and it’s still great. It was my gift to my CD tower. The “K” neighborhood of my alphabetically-arranged tower looks better than ever with Shadows and Cracks hobnobbing with Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, and Phil Keaggy. Property values in that subdivision are soaring!

The song that is ministering to me in a special way today is “All I Want is You.”

If God took me from this earth today
I’d be so happy. What a thing to say.
But that’s how it feels when you feel like I do.

You’re in the cracks of my dark heart
First thing I hear when the music starts.
I sing about you until I’m blue
and I believe every word is true.
‘Cause all I really want is you.

This is an amazing record, and you would do well to buy yourself a copy. Today. Now.
