Pearl Jam in Italy, The Magic is Coming…
Sometimes you can see it coming, other times you can’t.
I’m going to make a bold prediction about what you’ll see in the sporadic “Let’s Talk About My iPod” columns over the next few weeks: Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam. As you might have heard, Bruce has a new album coming out next week and I’m a little excited about it.
While I wait, Pearl Jam has a new DVD in stores as of today. It’s called mmagine in Cornice and it follows the band on the Italian leg of the European tour. I have watched the first hour of it and I suppose it has done it’s job; I feel even worse that I’ve never actually seen them in concert.
I wanted to finish watching the DVD tonight so I could get started on a proper writeup but I had a few odds and ends that required my attention, so I’ve paused it. Rest assured, you’ll get the full rundown in the coming days.
While I’m taking care of those aforementioned tasks, I’m listening to one of my official Pearl Jam bootlegs. Which one? Their show 2000 show from Verona, Italy. I’m big on synergy and relevance. Well, I am tonight. I’m really impressed with the sound on this one. There’s a crispness to it that isn’t always the case on these “bootlegs.” They’re all professionally recorded, but not two shows are identical in performance or sound. The Verona show is a really good one to have. It’s 32 songs and the sound is top notch. It’s a shame I don’t have the energy to stay up and listen to the rest of this show.
