Springsteen Magic Tour 10/10/07 East Rutherford #2: “Cynthia” Debuts, “Incident” Returns
All right, so “Jungleland” didn’t happen. “Adam Raised a Cain” and “Cynthia” did! That’s right, I said “Cynthia.” I’m not savvy to the history of that song and I don’t have my Tracks box set in front of me so I can’t even attempt to tell you where it fits chronologically. What I can tell you is it is one of the better cuts from Tracks, it doesn’t get played often, and it did get played in New Jersey last night. “You Can Look But You Better Not Touch,” another song not often played, was part of last night’s show as well.
“Incident on 57th Street” was played for the second time this tour. Both times, “Incident” has been played on the second night of a two-night stand. “The Promised Land,” which is God’s favorite song, was again on the set list. “Born to Run,” “Thundercrack,” and “Dancing in the Dark” were the core of the encore. Is that any good?
It’s early, but a pattern seems to have emerged. There seems to be a “standard” set list and an “alternate” set list. The second show of a two-night stand seems to be the place you want to be if you want to hear something obscure. Here’s the full rundown for Bruce Springsteen fans who actually like Bruce Springsteen:

This is the second time ‘Cynthia’ has been played by the E-Street Band. It was played at least once on the ‘Devils & Dust Tour’ on acoustic guitar.
This great. We are five shows in, and the obscure stuff is already showing up. There’s hope for any old favorite to the played.
“Santa Ana” is coming. Be ready. Bruce will hear our pleas!
