We Interrupt This Program
My laptop is in the shop and my computer/internet access is going to spotty until I am reunited with it.
In the meantime, I’ve been listening to:
-
– Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ The Last DJ: Great morality play on that record, great orchestration by Jon Brion. A lot of people missed this one, very worth picking up.
– Tom Petty’s Highway Companion, Deluxe Edition: Tom’s crazy for not having gotten “Home” on the proper version of the album. You need to hear this one.
– Mark Lanegan’s Scraps at Midnight: This will be featured on Citizen Dick… soon.
– Alice in Chains’ “So Close” from Alice in Chains: Alice rarely grooved, but “So Close” does in a quintessentially Alice sort of way. Detuned guitars, detuned vocals, and plentiful weirdness and mayhem make this one of my favorites.
Until we meet again, I got the “Ain’t Got No Laptop Blues.”
