In With the Old, Out With the New
Making lists and checking them twice… you only thought that time of year was over now, didn’t you? Now that 2007 is officially over – actually, it’s over in every sense, but for some reason I felt the need to use the word “officially” – I can start to look at the records that were released this past year and come to some sort of decision on which were the best.
Just like last year (Guster’s Ganging Up on the Sun), my choice for this year leaked early and was probably pretty obvious. The good news is while Peter Karp’s album Shadows and Cracks may have been the best (and it was), it wasn’t the only album of 2007 worthy of praise. I’ll be working on that list over the next couple days and hope to have it unleashed before week’s end.
