Music of the Moment: Nick Moss & The Flip Tops - “Late Night Saint”
Oh, I’m having the weirdest day. I felt like leftover ass yesterday and despite having gone to bed at a human time, I was three steps behind myself all fuckin’ day. I went home last night, took a nap, woke up and still felt a bit shit. We ate a crappy dinner and I went back to bed.
I had to go to a meeting at work this morning which required me to get here earlier than I had been arriving. Early (earlier, anyway) mornings and meetings are generally not the recipe for feelings of empowerment and energy… except that I feel wide awake and good right now. I can’t explain it. I almost feel hyper. Chances are good I’ll accomplish something today.
With this much energy, only one song seemed to fit the bill. Nick Moss’ “Late Night Saint” is a rollicking, down-n-dirty blues number that bursts with excitement and action. This is one of my favorite songs of last year from one of my favorite albums of last year.
