Before The Day Changes
I’m not often prone to Friday worship and I’ve been less so in 2008 as I’ve not actually had a day off all year. That said, it is Friday. Friday is different from Thursday, different from Saturday. Is it better? It may be but probably not. It’s just that. Different.
Any way, I’ve been trying to put to good use the extra dollars from the extra hours I’ve been working. I bough an iPhone two weeks ago and I’m a better person by 22%. Yesterday, I paid a lot on a bill. Today, I hit the music market.
I decided to support independent music today and bought the four albums from Fast Horse Recordings I don’t already own:
- Round Mountain - Truth and Darkness
- Rahim Al Haj - Friendship
- Terremoto - Shadows From The Jungle
- Woven Songs From The Amazon soundtrack
Barrett talked a little bit about Woven Songs when I interviewed him for BSCA. I look forward to listening to it. I’m willing to bet I’ve never heard anything like most of this music. I’ll be sure to write about it when it arrives. Of course the cool thing is I can listen to all this music right now while I wait for it to be delivered. Fast Horse lets people listen to the full song from every album on the label, free. Free music is great, but there’s also a lot to be said for putting your cash on the table and supporting great music.
Now I just have to cross my fingers that PayPal doesn’t screw up the order. I’ve not always had the best of luck with those folks.
