Springsteen Magic Tour 05/28/08 Manchester, UK: “Adam Raised a Cain” When Bruce Played “Mary’s Place” Again
He really won’t stop playing “Mary’s Place.” He just really won’t stop. That quibble out of the way, let’s take a look at the rest of the show. 26 songs, which is good. Well, 25 and “Mary’s Place.” I need to stop that.
I’m thrilled to see “I’ll Work For Your Love” getting played- one of the good songs from Magic. I’m disappointed on behalf of TheWifeToWhomI’mMarried to see “Girls In Their Summer Clothes” got skipped. Oh, and damn, he didn’t play “Reason to Believe.” That’s a mistake.
The biggie in this set for me is “Adam Raised a Cain.” Others are going to celebrate “It’s Hard to Be a Saint in The City” and “Growin’ Up,” both excellent songs. “Trapped” and “Rosalita” were both played, as was “Dancing In The Dark.” All in all, this was a pretty strong set.
