Springsteen Magic Tour 04/23/08 Dublin: “Jungleland” Leads The Encore
Well, it’s better than the first night in Dublin but for reasons that surpass all understanding he’s still playing “Mary’s Place.” I don’t know if he’s trying to fuck with us or what. Maybe no one has told him just how uninspiring that song is! If that be the case, consider this the memo. Stop playing “Mary’s Place.” I don’t know anyone who actually wants to hear it! Oh, and never ever take “Reason to Believe” out of the set list. That one must be played nightly or God will be angry.
I bet the stretch of “Trapped,” “Murder Incorporated,” “Darlington County,” “Prove It All Night,” and “She’s The One” tore a hole in the sky. Hell, I want to run through a brick wall just looking at that. All of that and “Jungleland” to open the encore! Not bad. Not bad at all (save for “Mary”).

Not a bad setlist. Definitely an improvement over Dublin #1. I totally agree about “Marys Place,” or “Rosie Lite” as I like to call it. During the Rising tour, that one was always the piss break song. He usually played it so long that you could even squeeze a smoke and a beer in there, and still make it back to your seat on time.

Not bad at all. There have been more inspiring sets on the tour, but this one is very solid with the lone exception.
