Springsteen Magic Tour Setlist Cardiff 06/14/2008: Springsteen Pays Tribute to Tim Russert

I’ll admit it. I forgot. I didn’t forget Bruce was still touring in Europe but did get the days mixed up.

So we’re back in action and the Cardiff opener was “From Small Things (Big Things One Day Come),” a song Bruce wrote and allowed Dave Edmunds to record first. Also noteworthy about this show was Bruce’s dedication of “Thunder Road” to the memory of journalist Tim Russert and to Russert’s family.

Beyond that, Bruce insists on torturing his audience and small animals by continuing to play “Mary’s Place.” God needs to pick up the phone and put a stop to this.

  1. That back-to-back dose of “Mary’s Place” and “Working On the Highway” sure makes for an awful long bathroom break, doesn’t it?

  2. Plenty of time to make sure you wipe good, I suppose.
