Springsteen Magic Tour Set List 07/28/08 Giants Stadium #2
The good news is there is an end in sight. This tour is going to end and I won’t have to fail miserably to creatively assess the previous night’s set list. I’ve decided the focus of my ire will be the covers. I know some people enjoy them but it gets back to my main quibble with Seeger Sessions — an album I like, by the way. Some artists have a shallow pool of songs to draw from, so covers help change up the pace. Springsteen is a Top 10 songwriter of all time (maybe higher but I’m shooting from the hip here). I’d like to go to a show to hear Bruce Springsteen songs. A cover is fine. Three is a bit much.
Aside from that, some nice rarities did show up in this set and my wife can once again celebrate the playing of “Girls in Their Summer Clothes.”

u.s. tour debut of “Drive All Night”
sounds like everybody had a load of fun.
fun? you remember that?
Oh, well, if Narcissistic BruceFan had fun dancing with each other I guess I’d best not say anything critical. There were 75,000 BruceFans in attendance and they were great. I’m told Springsteen and his band — what’s their name again? — actually stopped by, too, but no one noticed because we were all with our best friends.
you should rename this site to confessions of a crabass.
Well first, let’s get something straight. I’m not here to write someone else’s opinion. 75,000 people can be wrong and the web has unlimited capacity for their wrongness.
Second, 90% of my writings on this site are glowing about something and Springsteen happens to be the recipient of a lot of that. That said, this is where I offer up my thoughts and opinions and I don’t restrict myself. This is my site and my voice. You’re welcome to disagree around here but I’d also like to point out you have the right to not say anything at all anytime you don’t like what you read.
yes, daddy.
This is what happens when we let Grandpa hang on to the remote too long. He forgets himself and starts saying embarrassing things.
Did anyone mention teh special guests?
Max Weinbergs SON played drums on Born To Run and also, Bruce;s kids danced and played on TWIST and SHOUT
Lots of fun
Didn’t know about the kids showing up. Thanks for that, Gerry.
For Twist and Shout, Bruce’sdaughter brought a few of her friends onto teh stage and they danced
It was Patty’s birthday apparently
There were 2 other boys on guitar during twist and shout but they were not introduced, one might have been gary tallent’s son, not sure
hope to find out soon,
