Tuesday’s New Releases: The Stones Shine a Blu-Ray Light; Magic Junk Radio 11

I have a confession to make.  I like Tuesdays better than Fridays most weeks.  I love new releases.  This week isn’t as dense as last week and only one of my two purchases is actually going to cost me a dime.  After last week, I need the break.

First up- Martin Scorsese’s tour film of the Rolling Stones’ Shine a Light makes its way to DVD and Blu-Ray.  Just think, Blu-Ray fans, you’ll be able to count the cracks in Keith’s face.  Mick Jagger’s lips will be in high definition.  I’m probably not helping DVD sales here, am I?  Well, let me correct that.  The soundtrack to the film was released earlier this spring and it sounds spectacular.  Now we get the images to go with the words.  We’ll see if Uncle Marty can bring anything to the tourfilm genre.

Meanwhile, Team RodSom is back with the 11th installment in their pop culture dustbin series, Magic Junk Radio.  This installment is subtitled Slow Ahead.  I’ve already downloaded it and started listening but haven’t gotten all the way through it yet.  It’s free, it’s good, and it will probably include some bits and pieces of me mixed into the chaos.  You should all go check it out.
