Springsteen Magic Tour Set List 08/02/08 Foxboro
We pause my countdown to Nashville to cover the real news, and I have it on good authority last night’s show in Foxboro was a good one.
If you’re curious, Bruce’s streak is now up to 30. Joe DiMaggio would be getting nervous if “Mary’s Place” was a hit. Last night was a little more cover heavy than I’d prefer, but there were some great songs that were part of last night’s show. “Jungleland” should be a part of 2 out of every 3 encores. That one just screams “encore” to me, for some reason.
The band now takes a two week break before starting up the next, and perhaps last, shows of the Magic World Tour.

I’m usually not as critical of Bruce’s setlists as others are, but beginning the encore with “I’m Goin’ Down” just seems anticlimactic, especially when it precedes “Jungleland.”
“I’m Goin’ Down” was a fan request via the signs.
here was the comment i got from lisa shortly before 1am after the show: “Best Show Ever!”
Not as critical of Bruce’s setlists, just George Michael’s.
I’m going to stand firm on my Atlanta set list, but I know Lisa had a fuckin’ great time.
The guy standing next to me in the pit asked me some time before the show if I was pro or con “Dirty Water” (given that it’s kind of a Boston tradition). I told him I wasn’t a setlist freak and that I planned on not complaining about what Bruce did or didn’t play.
You’ll not hear one complaint out of me about setlists, ever.
What a night it was.
Touché on the GM setlist, Josh.
However, Springsteen has a wealth of great songs to choose from. George Michael has considerably less, so when he doesn’t play them, I get a little peeved (especially when the tickets were $100 each).
Now if Bruce would only cover “Wake me Up Before You Go-Go”…
Now if Bruce would only cover “Wake me Up Before You Go-Go”…
hey, why not? i mean, he’s played “Achey Breaky Heart”!
seriously, George Michael should do a Queen tune at his shows. he knocked those tunes outa the park at the Freddie tribute concert.
Yeah, George’s version of “Somebody to Love” was extraordinary.
He was really the only vocalist in that concert who could match Freddie Mercury’s vocal range.
Even though I never liked Extreme, I thought Gary Cherone was surprisingly good with the medley of Queen songs they did at that tribute show.
yeah, i remember liking Cherone’s voice too, and was sort of excited about the Van Halen thing. then the record came out and he didn’t sound all that different from Sammy.
i gotta dig that cd out….
