Wilco’s Got My Mojo Working
It took awhile, but I think I’ve found my Monday mojo. I’ve been looking for the right music for the day all morning and not having a lot of luck.
I started with The Black Keys’ Rubber Factory and Magic Potion. I really like both albums but neither completely captured my imagination.
Next up was Buddy Guy’s recent release Skin Deep. I like the record but it didn’t take long to realize that just wasn’t where my head was at.
I was in the middle of finding my groove with Tom Petty when, in an e-mail exchange, I quoted a Wilco song title. Wilco? Perfect! I have a random Wilco playlist set up on my iPod so I grabbed the 10 songs it queued up and supplemented it with a couple of songs from Summerteeth, including the song that sent me in this direction in the first place: “I’m Always in Love.”
It keeps getting better… I’ve got a perfect Monday theme song: “What’s The World Got In Store.” I should make a note to listen to that song every Monday.
