R.E.M. Accelerate Set List 08.24.08 Manchester, UK: Rarely Played “Mr. Richards” Part of Encore
Forgive me for I fear you dear readers will misinterpret my tone when I call this a standard-issue rarity show. It seems like a contradiction in terms and it kind of is. I like this set list. It’ balances singles and rarities, IRS and WB-era very well. This is a model set list. It’s also not too different from the way we’ve seen them balance their shows on this tour. They’re doing a great job of mixing things up but they’re starting to mix things up the same way. I’m not knocking them, and other than “Imitation of Life,” I’d take this set list in a heartbeat.
