Confessions of a Fanboy

Was there ever any doubt I was going to buy the box set, deluxe edition of Oasis’ upcoming album Dig Out Your Soul?  No, I didn’t think so either.

In case you missed it on the B-Sides Concept Album last week, Oasis is releasing their new studio album Oct. 7.  It will come as a standard single CD.  It will also come in a collectors’ edition box set, filled with extra goodies.  The box includes a box (ha ha), a hardcover book, 2 CDs, 1 DVD, and 4 vinyl LPs.  The first CD is the album proper.  The second disc is a nine-song collection of remixes, alternate takes, and outtakes.  The 4 vinyl LPs will include everything on those two discs.  The DVD features a “making of” the album featurette, a making of the video for “The Shock of The Lightning,” and the video for the first single “The Shock Of The Lightning.”

The cost of this bundle of Gallagher?  $99.  I know that’s a shitload of money but 2 CDs, 1 DVD, and 4 LPs is a pretty good haul and I’m an Oasis completist obsessive.  I need this, and I’m having it.  It’s my birthday present to me.  Check out the detailed listing for the set:
