Do You Remember Rock & Roll?
It’s all a vicious circle, isn’t it?
It’s not a new phenomenon to think everything sucks and that it’s only going to get worse. Plagues, Palins, bailouts, John Mayer, Obamas, terrorism, global warming, Al Davis, war, famine, malaria, John Denver, John Davidson… the list is fuckin’ endless.
What got me started on all this was listening to The Ramones “Do You Remember Rock N Roll Radio.” There was no Clear Channel or Cumulus, and The Ramones were still tapping into the idea that the world of music was turning into a den of suck. Joey might have been being sarcastic about it, but someone was wondering what was going wrong with Rock N Roll Radio, and they still are.
There’s nothing new under the sun, even when it comes to criticism. It’s easy to see the suckitude. It takes a little work to see the good. I’m not an optimist anywhere in my life except for music. I always believe someone, somewhere is going to release something really great. It’s not that I’m never disappointed, but to quote Wilco “I’m Always In Love.”
Ay! Oh! Let’s Go!

There’s nothing wrong with John Denver! I’ll beat your ass for saying so, too.
And since you brought up the Ramones, the boy child just got his first Ramones CD for his birthday. Courtesy of his dear ol’ ma.
By the way, Lurrie Bell was AWESOME! I have photos to share. And stories.
