Is There Anybody Alive Out There?
This is radio nowhere, folks. Sorry to have gone radio silent. It’s an odd week for that to have happened with so much good music in my hands right now. I haven’t gotten to talk about the new Dylan release and I haven’t been able to fully express my love of the new Oasis record. That’s going to change, but life intrudes and I’m doing the best that I can.
11 and I spoke briefly about Dig Out Your Soul and 11 believes “Falling Down” may be the best song Noel-led Oasis song on an Oasis record. He may be on to something. If you look at Oasis’ seven proper albums, Gallagher has typically done 2-3 lead vocals fronting the band. Some of those songs have been spectacular. “Don’t Look Back in Anger” is an all-time classic. “Little By Little” is an underappreciated gem favored by TheWifeToWhomI’mMarried. “The Importance of Being Idle” is a wonderful, whimsical song off the great Don’t Believe The Truth record.
“Falling Down” may be the best of the bunch, and as someone who still wells up with emotion every time I hear “Anger” that is saying something.
To be continued…

Tell Tale Signs is a revelation. I knew it was going to be interesting, but I really was unprepared for how GREAT it is.
And, well, you already know about me and the new Oasis. I’m hooked, eating anything I may have previously said about the band.
I have only gotten through the first TTS disc, but like it a great deal, especially the live stuff
Did you say “wells up with emotion”? Like, you mean… cry?
Dude, the drugs did work!
No, no tears. I don’t do that. My alien leaders removed my tear glands. Just because I don’t bust out the hankie doesn’t mean I don’t know how to act, Mr. Sahm.
All jokes aside, it is an interesting phenomenon of how music can automatically incite emotions when you may not have been feeling such.
It’s a good post idea for you, Josh… the specific songs that always give you the chills, that get you angry, sad, happy, etc.
See? I try to give you ideas for those reviewer’s block days.
