And When My Mind is Wandering…
Welcome to my World of Randomness. I thought I’d be eager to continue digesting and processing all the great new music I’ve recently added, but my mind just doesn’t seem up to the task today. Today is one of those days I can’t possibly make a decision and nothing seems very right, good, or normal. As a result, I plucked out a few random songs from a few random playlists and I’m throwing it against the wall to see what sticks.
I’m once again reminded that “Fixing a Hole” might be my favorite Beatles’ song ever. McCartney’s vocal and bass are tremendous and I love the guitar sound George Harrison achieves on the record. Quite underrated, “Fixing a Hole.”

hmmm, your mind is wandering too, eh?
Good track indeed… I was singing this song to myself this summer when I was patching holes in the brick wall of my basement.
Now it seems the hole Paul will be fixing is in his trust fund!
Agreed. Great great song.
Sahm, I’m thinking Paul’s finances will be all right even after the $100+ million hit he’ll take, but you might be right.
Yes, sirs, it is an all-time favorite. To me one of the great secrets of rock and roll is the music of Sgt. Pepper. It has become such a major pop culture icon that I think people miss out on how great the music on the record actually is. This is one of the best examples. People don’t know this song, but they should.
“She’s Leaving Home” is my pick for a Sgt. Pepper’s underrated/overlooked gem. This beautiful little song rarely gets any attention. It’s a throwback to their old days, sure, but how can that be a bad thing?
That’s another good one, Tom. The album is just loaded with goodness. I hope they do a good job remastering these records because I’d love to hear this album properly balanced and restored.
