Alice in Chains To Record New Album With William DuVall

Feared this I did.
Rolling Stone is reporting that Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez, Sean Kinney, and William DuVall are entering the studio to produce a new album of music that will likely be released under the Alice in Chains moniker.
I’m sorry.  This isn’t Alice in Chains.

Barrett Martin on The B-Sides Concept Album, Recap

I opened the program last night talking about the feeling of being a kid in a candy store. By the end of last night, I felt like I owned the fuckin’ candy store. In the 34+ years I’ve been circling the sun, last night goes down as one of the best nights of [...]

Music of the Moment: Alice in Chains

It started with my quoting a line from “Dam That River” in an e-mail to 11 this morning. “You piss upon my candle” captured my feeling at that moment. 11 likes AiC; he doesn’t love them. He was unfamiliar with the lyric but he liked it. That discussion was enough to [...]

Music of the Moment: Jerry Cantrell — “Psychotic Breakdown”

A sick, unsettling feeling grips you within the opening seconds of “Psychotic Break,” the first song from Jerry Cantrell’s first post-Alice in Chains solo album, Degradation Trip. The song was written prior to former Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley’s fatal overdose, but it is chilling to hear Cantrell sing of dead friends whose [...]

Let’s Talk About My iPod: August 20, 2007

A lot of good stuff from yesterday, beginning with the most recent addition to the collection, Dave Matthews’ Live at Radio City. From there I did another tour through the ’90s and followed that up with a short classic rock kick.

Let’s Talk About My iPod: August 17, 2007

I’ve spent too much time this week watching movies and listening to podcasts and that’s why there haven’t been too many Let’s Talk About My iPod features this week. Today was more centered on music and I finally have enough songs to warrant posting one.
Obviously Luscious Jackson, Jeff Buckley, and U2 made the big [...]

Let’s Talk About My iPod: August 14, 2007

That Peter Karp CD has permanently wormed its way into my head and heart. I woke up this morning with “Shadows and Cracks” in my head and had to listen to a few cuts, but most of the day was spent touring the ’90s. Many of these songs are ones I listen to [...]

Noel Gallagher Had It Right, Billboard Has it Wrong, No New Material on Unplugged Re-Issues

Don’t Believe The Truth is a great album and a great album title. It also sums up my feelings after doing a bit of research into the supposed deluxe versions of those four Unplugged albums I mentioned last week.
I knew something was up when I started doing some digging on the AiC release. [...]

Alice in Chains, Bob Dylan, Tony Bennett, Mariah Carey Unplugged Deluxe Editions Due Sept. 18

For those of you who couldn’t get all the way to the bottom of my earlier indulgent-yet-charming piece, Sony/Legacy is preparing to re-release four classic Unplugged albums Sept. 18.
Alice in Chains, Bob Dylan, Tony Bennett, and Mariah Carey’s Unplugged albums will all be re-released accompanied by a DVD with bonus features.
Here is [...]
