I fuckin’ hope so. I’m back at work today for the first time since Christmas and the good news is that everything is in the same chaos as when I left. The bad news? Chaos, I tell you.
I’ve started this morning with Radiohead’s In Rainbows — there’s something about having it on [...]

That’s right, kids, I’m writing from the great beyond — or at least, the internet equivalent to it. I’m going to have to have one of those getups where a fella can get online anytime, any place because my ass is going through serious withdrawal symptoms. It’s not even funny.
S. Carolina is great [...]

I love the Radiohead — not as much as I used to, but I do. If you thought my Guster writings bordered on “get a room,” you should have seen my pursuit of Radiohead circa 1998-99. It ranged somewhere between obsession and stalker; something not lost on my fellow editors at our campus [...]

I didn’t realize until I compiled this list just what an active, productive, and awesome music-listening day I had today. I knew I was listening to some great music but it wasn’t until I got to see the cumulative total of it all that I realized just how great.
I rule.

I’ve spent the morning trying to find music that properly reflected my ragged, sleep-deprived state. Kid A was the answer. I’ve spent much of the morning listening to Radiohead’s albums and b-sides and even took a quick trip through Thom Yorke’s solo album The Eraser.
“Everything in its Right Place” sounds the way I [...]

A lot of good stuff from yesterday, beginning with the most recent addition to the collection, Dave Matthews’ Live at Radio City. From there I did another tour through the ’90s and followed that up with a short classic rock kick.

I spent my in the ’90s today, maxing out on a lot of the ’90s alternative and grunge scene — even the Springsteen I listened to today was from the ’90s.
Very soon I’m going to have to write in depth about how much I love “My Beautiful Reward” from Springsteen’s Lucky Town CD. That [...]

More news from the world of my iPod!
We already covered where I started this morning: Deftones, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Zwan. The day got a little more varied as things went along: Radiohead, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and then I set one of my ’90s playlists on random and a lot [...]

I wish I got into all that psychobabble and analysis and shit because I’d be curious what it says when you begin your day with Deftones.
I woke up this morning in the mood for some big guitars, yet I don’t feel all that angst-y. Still, for some reason I needed to hear “Digital Bath” [...]

I woke up this morning wanting to call everyone a Gucci little piggy. What a great song!
It’s such a smart song. There are distinct movements and these movements change the tone and dynamics of the song. The lyrics are a fabulous portrayal of paranoia. They also have some great one-liners:
“When I [...]
