Disagree with you there, Mark, because people aren't making the association in a complementary manner for the most part. They are accusing them of being derivative.

As for the lesson... you're right there.

I think it is more of a thing that people WANT to hear the association, because they miss the Beatles and will settle for reminiscing with a copycat.

Learned your lesson from In Rainbows to get the box set right away, eh Josh?

There's nothing wrong with John Denver! I'll beat your ass for saying so, too.

And since you brought up the Ramones, the boy child just got his first Ramones CD for his birthday. Courtesy of his dear ol' ma.

By the way, Lurrie Bell was AWESOME! I have photos to share. And stories.

Great show, one I wish I had for posterity, the band was explosive and the chat between songs was very funny and light hearted.

I'm glad I'm not alone on the sound quality. I'm not a full-on audiophile and don't always have complete confidence in my ears. I was a bit shocked at how shoddy the sound was on first listen.

I'm revisiting songs from earlier BF5 and BF albums and enjoying how good so many of them are. I'm not sure Way To Normal is going to get there for me.

I haven't heard it yet and honestly don't have too much interest in it right now, but I have been reading some stuff from fellow sound-freaks like me and they're appalled at the sound quality of the new Folds album, so you are not alone. He and Metallica must be hanging out together at the mastering console, giving each other tips.

"Landed" is about the only thing I can remember off of Silverman, unfortunately. I fear that Rockin' the Suburbs may have been my exit point, which is too bad because I really did like him (and the Five) up to that point.
