Equally great as my victory over Huntsville in the pursuit of Richard Hawley was the arrival of my Fast Horse Recordings package on Saturday. I’m sad to say I didn’t get to listen to a single note upon its arrival owing to a busy day of doing “things,” most of which didn’t get accomplished.

It took a few listens to even begin processing what the hell is going on with this record, but I think I’ve come up with it.

Amazon Prime brought me a present yesterday: a double live album recorded when Harrison fronted Eric Clapton’s band in Japan. I don’t know how long it had been since George had played a live gig, but he’d been relatively absent from touring for most of the ’80s.
