Depending on how you look at it and who you ask, Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band brought their Magic tour to a close in Kansas City before playing at the Harley-Davidson festival in Wisconsin or brought said tour to a close at the H-D festival. Bruce did say from the stage in KC that [...]

It looks like we have a festival appearance in Paris as today’s set list is a scant 20 songs. Once again, “Bad Day” and “It’s The End of The World As We Know It” bookend the set. The I.R.S. songs are in short supply but this is a solid set for being what it is, [...]

One of these days I’m going to create a Wiki for this site so folks who jump in midstream can catch up on the inside jokes and cast o’ characters. Speaking of characters, no one embodies that term better than deposed BC Magazine Sports Editor Matthew T. Sussman (some folks call him Matt, I call [...]

I’ll be going Jellyfish-ing again today. I can feel it. It’s Friday and Jellyfish, my new BFF, are clearly Friday music. I’m going Jellyfishing again today, just as soon as I finish obsessing over B.B. King’s “See That My Grave Is Kept Clean.”

Wow, what an awful way to open a show. “Bad Day” to open? “Bad Day” = Bad Song. Yuck.
I love that “It’s The End of The World As We Know It” closed the main set. I know they’ve played it 10,000,000 times since Document, but that’s a perfect encore or main set closer. Why fight [...]

People wonder why I make a big deal of Springsteen and his set lists. Here’s a great example of why. Oasis kicked off the world tour that will support their new album Dig Out Your Soul (set for release 10/7) with a marathon… 18-song set.

It’s been really tough focusing on the B.B. King record because of how excited I got while listening to those two Jellyfish records earlier this afternoon. I wanted to come home and crank them on the home stereo, but duty called and I need to get my King review written and that starts by listening [...]

I have now finished listening to One Kind Favor and my initial reaction seems to be holding. I like this record.
I’ve started an outline of a full-length review of the album, focusing on some of the broad themes that occurred to me as I was listening. I didn’t make detailed, track-by-track notes so I’m still thinking [...]
