So, how did AC/DC’s plan to distribute their new album Black Ice exclusively in the US through Walmart work out for them? Not bad. They are set to debut at #1 on the US charts, selling more than 780,000 copies in its first week.
Of course, Black Ice went to #1 in 28 other countries and [...]

I don’t know what a Rock ‘N’ Roll Train is, but there’s something undeniable and catchy about this first single from AC/DC’s latest.
People can knock them for being derivative and dumb all they want. I say it takes a hell of a lot of talent to make the same old thing sound catchy, and that’s [...]

I needed to not start the day with the navelgazing of yesterday’s Springsteen/Tunnel of Love stuff so I started as far away from that as I could: AC/DC!
This reminds me of those breakfast cereal commercials when I was a kid. This cereal is part of a properly balanced breakfast. Yeah, in other words none of [...]

I went home for lunch, hoping the mail had already run. When I opened my mailbox, there it was: the new AC/DC album Black Ice. 15 brand new songs, the first album in eight years. I feel like I’m back in college, working at that classic rock radio station where I was a DJ: “It’s [...]

Tomorrow is going to be a good Tuesday. How good? So good that I’m talking about it on Monday. I guess that could also tell you how I’m feeling about Monday and that has a lot to do with Sunday. Now would be a good time for a PSA: Anyone with pro-Tampa Bay Devil Rays [...]

On the day I bought Highway to Hell, I bought two other CDs. After really listening to H2H, I decided to buy a [...]

I’ve always liked that bit in the Foo Fighters’ song “All My Life” where Dave Grohl screams “On to the next one.” I tend to be that way too much with my musical listening. I’ll obsess over an album or a song or an artist and then I’ll either lose interest or be drawn to [...]

After watching No Bull on DVD, I looked at my CD towers and realized there are only two AC/DC albums in my library: Back In Black and the 2-CD Live, which is the closest thing to a career-spanning retrospective in their catalog.

Today’s working vacation is off to a good start. I wrote and published my review of AC/DC’s No Bull DVD for BC Magazine and I’m getting ready to start writing my review David Gilmour Live in Gdansk. A quick word on the AC/DC before we move on. Even though the No Bull set didn’t light [...]

Well, I don’t know where I disappeared to this weekend but I’m back. Sort of. I’m back long enough to tell you that today’s break is a working break. I have research and writing to do today- research in the form of AC/DC’s No Bull, David Gilmour’s Remember That Night (and Live [...]
